FILM

The Film track is a new track under the Studio Art major where students will learn the process of video production and the internal logic required for artful filmmaking. Students learn to think visually and consider lighting, color, composition, and movement as they relate to production. Our program also emphasizes the importance of sound and how the audible and the visual components support and complement each other. Students have the opportunity to work with industry-standard video editing software in our new Digital Media Laboratory at Goodman Hall. Film students do not have to take any drawing or painting courses, but they must complete the same number of hours in film, communications, and/or design.
